Who Luke Foundation Uganda is

Luke Foundation Uganda is a registered community-based organization that was founded in February 2020 by Kisa Luke, with the mission to improve the living standards of disadvantaged individuals in Bujagali community located 7 kilometers along the banks of the River Nile in Jinja Uganda. The foundation was born out of Kisa Luke’s personal experience of hardship growing up in Tororo district, where he faced numerous challenges as part of an extended family.
Having witnessed the struggles of local people—many of whom lived in poverty, suffered from food insecurity, faced limited educational opportunities, and were burdened by unemployment, disabilities, and aging, Kisa felt a deep compassion and a strong drive to make a difference.

Why Luke Foundation Uganda Matters

Kisa's experience with organizations like the Amo Foundation showed him that many people around the world want to help, but the link between the needy and global supporters is often weak. Luke Foundation Uganda is the bridge, bringing people together to create lasting change and build a future of self-sufficiency community.

Our History

In our early days, Luke Foundation Uganda started with a small but impactful initiative—providing a safe home and education for orphans and homeless children. What began with three children grew quickly through word of mouth, reaching 26 children by the end of our first year. This overwhelming response inspired us to expand our efforts, introducing projects focused on craft skills, elderly & disability support, and environmental conservation.
